Draw expressions
Characters of manga show various kinds of expressions in stories. It is necessary to draw them clearly so one can tell them apart.
When reading manga, readers are often attracted by characters’ expressions. Drawing expressions can be regarded as just drawing countenances, but the point is that it is to express emotions.
Other way to express than to draw a face
There are other ways to draw expressions than to draw a face.
